Intelligent Sensing Laboratory

Hashimoto Laboratory
Chukyo University

Overview

Hashimoto Laboratory has been going ahead with research on Intelligent Sensing such as image processing, 3-D measurement or human sensing as the most important key-technology to give "intelligence" to robot systems.

Features

  • We are thinking a great deal of contacts with industrial worlds, and have been promoting some collaborating projects with companies. The basic stance of Hashimoto Lab. is "To give scientific solutions for actual subjects existing in real world".

  • Also we are concentrate our efforts to develop human resources as engineers. In addition to high-level technological education, fundamental academic ability and communication skills are effectively trained in our laboratory. I believe that the most important mission of our laboratory is to supply strong students who have various kinds of engineering experiments through daily R&D activities.

Researches

Hashimoto Laboratory covers wide-range technical field about intelligent robotics and industrial systems with focusing on the following three research domains.

  • Basic Algorithms of Image Processing
High-speed pattern matching, Analysis of SIFT features, Analysis of video data, Evaluation of image quality

  • 3-D Measurement and Recognition
Range data processing, Apperance-based object recognition, Object modeling, Robot safety systems

  • Human Recognition and Behavior Description
Human tracking, Hand and finger recognition, Human expression recognition, Description and representatin of human behavior
